Everything You Need To Know About Fort Collins Dent Repair

What is PDR?

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), also known as Paintless Dent Removal, is a cutting-edge, cost effective approach for repairing minor car dents, dings, and hail damage without the need for painting. This can be achieved with a couple different approaches:

  1. Special tools designed to push from the back side of the panel and gently massage the dent. To gain access for this type of repair, we will remove interior panels and/or headlights, tail lights, etc.
  2. Using a glue-pulling process that consists of special tabs that are glued to the outer surface of the panel using hot, melted glue. The tabs are then pulled using special equipment either until they pop off, or the technician feels that the metal has moved sufficiently.

What are the benefits of PDR?

There are many benefits of PDR. You get to keep your paint job. Whether it is your factory paint job or a custom paint job, this is important because matching paint is extremely difficult. Not only is the color difficult to match, the orange peel or texture of your paint is another factor that has to be considered. When using the PDR process, this is not an issue. The PDR process retains your vehicle’s value because when performed properly, it is difficult (if not impossible) to detect that there was ever any damage at all. When you choose PDR for your repair, you can expect the turn around to be much quicker than other dent repair methods. Most dent repairs can be performed in just a single day – and hail damage repair can be performed in 3-7 days.

Will my paint be damaged?

In most cases, your paint will not be damaged using the PDR process. With some more extreme damage, there is a small chance that the paint could crack due to the severe flex that the metal must endure. Many styles of paint these days are loaded with flexibility, but can only withstand so much. Even with the extreme damage, there are steps we can take to protect the paint as much as possible.

Will my dents be 100% gone?

Hail damage and minor dents will be 100% repaired and nonvisible. With the Dent Tech Lifetime Guarantee, if you’re not satisfied with the repair, we will either go back over the issue, or you will get your money back. Severe damage will not always be 100% gone, but we will inform you of that before you agree to the repair and give you a reasonable expectation of how well we can repair the damage.

Will my dents come back?

If your dent or hail damage is a candidate for 100% PDR repair, they will be guaranteed to not resurface for the life of your vehicle, so long as you still own it when you choose Dent Tech as your repair facility. This is outlined in our lifetime guarantee.

Can any dent be fixed?

Although PDR can be performed on a wide variety of damages, not all dents can be fixed. In the event we cannot repair a dent, we work closely with several local body shops and would be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Can you fix scratches or paint work?

At Dent Tech, we specialize in paintless dent repair – there are some minor scratches and defects in paint work that we can polish out, but in general we don’t have the equipment or expertise to repair extensive paint damage. In the event that your paint is damaged beyond the scope of our service, we work closely with several local body shops that we can refer you to, and we feel confident that you will receive exemplary service with these other companies.

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with all insurance companies to make sure your vehicle is repaired properly. With hail damage, your repair will likely be covered 100% by your insurance company – minus the amount of your deductible. In most cases, Dent Tech can waive your deductible up to $1,000 on qualifying repairs.

Can you help me with my lease return vehicle?

Yes! If you have a vehicle that is due to turn back in at the end of your lease, we can help you get the dents repaired so you don’t get charged for excessive wear and tear. We can repair the damage and get your car back in good shape at a lower cost than the charges from your leasing company.

I’ve got lots of dents, do you have a discount for more than one dent?

While there is no specific discount for multiple dents, as the dent count rises, we do charge less per dent. For example, our base charge is $75 for 1 small dent but that price is good for up to 5 small dents within the same panel.
